Channel Branding Project

For this brief I was required to re-imagine a channels branding, picked out of a group of set channels. I picked National Geographic as it seemed the most interesting and would be a challenge.
I had to create the following elements:
    15 Second Ident
    2-3 Break Bumper
    Menu Board
    Animated Bug
    Lower Third

The first deliverable was a treatment file, to suggest what direction I would take the piece.
From the begining I wanted to move away from the channels current branding and make it resemble the publication, as well as making it contemporary. After the treatment file, I refined and discarded elements, such as colour and space occupied on screen, and created the storyboard for the 15 second Ident.
I was insisting on using the frame as a constant element through out the piece, to keep it consistent as well as a gentle reminder to the viewer of what channel they are watching. i wanted the audio to have a modern feel and easy to listen to again, not demanding the attention of the viewer.

The other deleveribles had changed to look similar to the 15 second Ident, and in the final piece was much closer to my intention at the beginning of the project than the mock-ups I had created for the treatment file had.
Overall I felt the project was a success, I worked consistently and managed to create the look and feel that I wanted in the beginning.
