Habitat re-envisions the traditional hotel model and enhances the value of properties through an innovative development and locally-inspired approach to design. We tap into the authentic voice of a property or location, with an emphasis on narrative and visual identity, maximizing the value. The logo is constructed with two H’s crossed together; resembling a roof of a house, a mountain, and/or pine-like trees - to symbolize our habitat.
Create a simple, yet sophisticated and playful identity reflecting off of the residential and industrial urban mix of Greenpoint Brooklyn. During the development process, we tried to use as much of the existing architecture as possible while incorporating handmade and natural materials to the design; to keep it minimal and conservative.
Greenpoint is a diverse neighborhood with a strong history of mariners, immigrants, and the industrial industry. Today, it is a home of an eclectic mix of aspiring musicians, the politically savvy, indie-groupies, poets, creative thinkers, installation artists, and culturally aware twenty-somethings and more.
A hotel can be a catalyst for visitors to a new city. It’s a place where locals and out-of-towners can interact Ideal for accommodating the young and modern-day traveler who prefers to travel simple and in style, those who are curious about the local scene, and for those who want to stay in a quieter of New York City.
