I was asked by a friend to take photos of insects to be used as props in a movie. Once the project was done, I was left with all these intriguing details of insects that were both beautiful and creepy. I took this opportunity to create mixed media pieces. One of my goals was to add a sense of beauty and color to the insects that would normally repulse most people. These were all printed on 20x24" canvas, embellished with acrylic paint and showed in my first solo show in Santa Fe, NM back in 2014.
