Custom home
Bakersfield, Ca.
This project, Located in Bakersfield Ca, was a custom home for a prominent local contractor. The client had a lot of ideas and brought in a lot of inspirational photographs of fine homes in the Santa Barbara area and I think that we managed to come up with a beautiful fusion of these elements, including an impressive entry facade, columns, and window treatments.

This entry is the focal point of the design, it is all constructed of hand carved Cantera (A volcanic stone native to mexico). The results were very pleasing, the warm hue of the stone really makes these elements pop.
This rear window treatment was a joy to design, and is unlike anything else in the neighborhood of the home.
The Living room fireplace, this is made from the same material as the facade, but as you can see placing it in this brightly colored room evens out the stones orange hue, which is a good thing in this case.
This is a temperature and humidity controlled ground level wine cellar, the entry to which is adorned with Ionic order columns and a central arch.
These are the doors leading to the back yard, these were added after the rest of the house was completed because the client had so enjoyed the previous work.
