Maanshan was established in 1956. It is a prefecture-level city in the eastern part of Anhui province in Eastern China. Maanshan is an industrial city stretching across the Yangtze River. The name of the city means “Horse Saddle Mountain”. According to legend, the name came to be when the Chu-Han Contention (206-202BC) which was an interregnum between the Qin dynasty and the Han dynasty in Chinese History. As for the economy, the main industry is the iron and steel industry (MaGang) which improves rapidly the development of Maanshan. Hence, the GDP in Maanshan is the No.1 in Anhui Province and near the average of Yangtze River Delta. Maanshan is not only known as industrial city, but also is famous for  the history culture. One of greatest poets, Li Bai (700-762BC) in Chinese History spent his rest of his life living in Maanshan. Meanwhile, he wrote lots of famous poems for the next generations. In other word, Maanshan is namely Poetic City. In 1984, Zhu Ran (182-248AD) tomb was displayed in the Museum of Ma’anshan city. Final Outcomes - Poster 2
My hometown is an industrial city which produces iron and steel. It gave me the idea to focus on the metal element of it. The slogan of my city is ‘Take the Lead’ which means to be aspirant, and positive in all situations. Hence, inspired by research about the role of the horse and the spirit of my hometown, I had the idea of a galloping horse.

Final Outcomes - Poster 3
The poster is about the development of Chinese character from the ancient time to now. The main idea of it is to emphasis the historical my city. Inspired by the story of Chu-Han Contention (206-202BC) in Chinese History. According to research, the earliest character is Oracle-bone Inscription then Bronze Inscription, Seal Script, Clerical Script, Regular Script, Cursive Script, Semi-cursive Script, Traditional Character and Modern Character. Based on the chronological order, I did same thing on this poster. The colour is inspired by liquid iron which is one part of the process in smelting iron and steel. Then I used these colours to merge the industrial effect with the typography.
