Organic by John Patrick

The logo was inspired by John Patrick’s belief in sustainability and his dedication in creating ethical fashion that is “eco-chic.” The circumferencing thread represents the shape of cotton plants that he had learnt to grow in Peru at the beginning of Organic’s history. It symbolises naturalness and rawness that goes into creating each piece of garment. Simplicity that is congruent with Organic’s fashion design was also reflected in the logo’s overall minimalistic look. The typography was treated to give the name a modern and clean feel that can be easily recognized and endure for a long time.
The letterhead had to be clean yet display the Organic label with pride. The layout for the letterhead was done with a simple layout and the red was used to highlight important details, as well as maintain brand identity.
Textured and also thick paper was used for Organic’s business cards. To make it simple and easy on the eyes, the details were laid out in table-format that helps to separate each information.
A contemporary-meets-traditional feel reflective of the proposed collateral design was adopted with an expanded logo at the front edge to identify the company. At the back, a wax seal in the colour of Organic’s original colour will be used to enclose the envelope.
The packaging was a modern-meets-traditional feel that consists of a wrapping paper made of light, rice paper that is sheer, together with thread embedded in it for texture. The clothing is then binded with the wrapper and a string, and then secured with a sticker logo.
This was done in Lasalle College of the Arts on March 2014 and was submitted for One Show: Young Ones 2014.
