Jibe
Alzheimer’s disease affects a large, increasing percentage of the elderly U.S. population. This means that there soon will be a greater need for caregiving, a difficult task that often causes financial and emotional burden. How can these caregivers be helped? Through the exploration of the caregiverpatient relationship and preexisting technologies, I sought to reduce clutter in caregivers’ schedules. Jibe helps caregivers monitor their patients from a distance through the implementation of a sensory driven smart home system. The program features a platform for communication among family members and friends to help divide responsibilities and better care for their loved ones.
