DSW Flagship Grand Opening

The design combined the graphic typographic bars used in spring 2012 marketing with oversized arrows—all pointing Chicagoans in the direction of the new DSW on State Street.
 
Full campaign included 22 CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) headhouses and elevators, bus wraps, rail posters, and a grand opening party.
I enjoy projects that require thorough and methodical design thinking, so naturally I was excited to work on this ambitious out-of-home advertising project. 

To effectively design each CTA headhouse and elevator, I took myself on a virtual tour (using Google Maps streetview) of Chicago’s streets to gauge the environment, cardinal orientation, and readability of typography.
