Pagony Landscape Architects

PAGONY Landscape Architects, Budapest, since 1990

One of Hungary’s leading landscape architecture firms. Their philosophy is the creation of harmony between man and nature, man forming nature, and nature forming man.
Through community engagement, man builds his relationship with the natural world whether in the city or countryside, to connect to his environment, the scenery, and find peace within himself.
The firm has recently rethought its corporate identity. To complement this, the existing logo needed to be updated to become more identifiable (black and white, easily legible font)
The expectation is that the company's daily projects will also express its commitment to socially responsible design. Respect of heritage, as well as embracing new trends.

BEFORE / AFTER
Publications

The below publication was designed for the Ars Topia foundation, which is a sister foundation of Pagony Landscape Architects. It illustrates the 15 year transformation through a community project of the Kalaka Termal Bath, Székelyföld, in which several thousand people have participated to date. Although the movement started in Romania, it has now spread to Hungary. The movement was initiated to conserve landscape heritage sites. Students and locals work together to renovate dilapidated traditional baths.
They use only local materials, and the village provides accommodation.
This publication is a summary of a volunteer’s writings on the experience, accompanied by their own photographs, prepared like a diary to demonstrate the inspirational nature of the work.
