HALO is an upcycled pendant light created from over 300 acrylic reliefs.
Each year, newly accepted Industrial Design students receive a set of lasercut ellipse guides. Rather than simply being thrown away, the acrylic reliefs were transformed into HALO during a one day workshop. This skill-building exercise introduced the concept of upcycling: the reuse of discarded objects or material in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.
