STEAM Film and Animation Festival 2015
 
To be hosted at Carshalton College on 7th May 2015 between 11.00 and 18.00.
Productions to be screened over three areas, two projection and one interactive area. With the winners being announced through the day as they are screened. Entry is open to students from around the world, not just UK.
 
Entries must be submitted by April 22nd
 
 
To enter a film or animation into the
STEAM Film and Animation Festival 2015
is simple!
 
Students or Staff can enter films produced in their Sixth forms or Colleges over the last 3 years.
Dig out the best examples of your student showreels.
 
Post a comment below containing:
 
Your name or names of the production team
College/school they attend or attended when the video was produced. This must be or have been a level 3 course ( Diploma, A level, USA High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate, Spanish Bachillerato, etc.)
The award categories you want your film considered for.
Link to the video file
A few words of explanation, including; was your project self-propelled or a set assignment? How long it took to produce, how difficult, what it means, what equipment you used etc.?
A statement that your production contains no copyright material that prevents its use in an educational context.
 
We will contact you through the Behance messaging system.

Screening Categories
Live action
1. Short Film or Video
2. Extremely Short film or video (up to 30 seconds) This could be a production for Vine or internet use or just a lovely example of VFX or a cracking shot that stands up on it's own.
 
Animation 
1. Short Animation
2. Extremely short Animation (up to 30 seconds) This can be a Vine or internet targeted  production or showing off a beautifully made 3d model doing a flypast or walk cycle etc. .
 
Award Categories.
 
1.    Best in Festival
2.    Best short film or video
3.    Best extremely short film or video
4.    Best short animation
5.    Best extremely short Animation
6.    Best film or animation designed for the Oculus Rift.
7.    Best Independent Production ( This is anything made not as part of your course. Could be a Film Riot Monday Challenge or something you dreamed up and made independently etc. )
8.    Best response to a set assignment.
9.    Most challenging and creative assignment set for animation or video production. (One for the staff!)
10. Best animation using 3d software.
11. Best use of VFX
 
All categories will carry an Award Certificate – Best, highly commended and screened.
 
All entries will be accessible to a wider audience through the selection process on Behance.
 
Some categories will also contain a prize such as Internships/work placements with production companies and animation studios plus software licences worth several thousands of pounds etc. are also to be awarded.
 
More detail on this will be published as more sponsors are attracted. Currently Adobe, Autodesk and ToonBoom are our primary sponsors.
