ILMX009 Weather Report is the soundtrack to a slowly simmering relationship that sometimes gets stormy but more often that not, fizzles into a lingering cloudy gloom that never really seems to go away. Weather Report was inspired by music by American Analog Set (who also lend their song for the title of this Illustrated Mixtape), Sparklehorse, Broadcast, Bonobo and Holy Ghost!.

The evocative cover for this mixtape comes from NY-based freelance artist, Abbey Lossing who I came across online and loved instantly, for her philosophy of thinking long but working quickly. That's exactly what happened when I sent this mix to her. She nailed the swirling emotions I was trying to describe in the story and I loved that she infused a lighter colour palette to counter-balance the ominous grey clouds in the theme.
