Epiphany Project
"A unique hybrid of world music, art song, Americana and avant-garde folk; utterly uncategorizable but always transcendently beautiful." —Washington Post
Since 2003, John and Bet have traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East gathering sacred and secular texts in Aramaic, Sanskrit, Armenian, Farsi, Swahili and Welsh. With influences ranging from Armenian Spiritual music, minimalism, Appalachian Folk, Jazz, Qawwali devotional songs, acoustic blues and Tuvan throat singing, Epiphany Project creates music that is heady but accessible.
In 2007, John and Bet approached me while I was at Deem Communications to produce unique packaging for their new album, Hin Dagh. With the collaboration of my creative team as well as historic ornamental influence from our surroundings, we produced the designs below.
The following year, we won the Best CD Packaging award at the Independent Music Awards.
