PROHIBIDA (forbidden) is the first rice based craft beer, born from the fruits of the collaboration between SIVARIS rice and GALANA craft beers. For its creation, forbidden rice has been used, a rice so special that in ancient China, only the emperor and his closest family could consume it. It was forbidden for the common people. There are just 1000 bottles of this limited edition beer.
When it came to tackling the design, we opted for a very simple, uncomplicated design that sets it apart from the usual overcrowded designs of beer labels. The idea was to make it closer to the language of the common man, with a distinctive style, relatable to everyone. We added a text that explains the story behind the name PROHIBIDA as well as the project of collaboration between the two Valencia based artisan companies.
