For this project, I worked with Carlos Castro to create a public service announcement for the Aid For Africa foundation. For this project, I wanted to focus the attention on the African residents in the advertisement. In order to focus on the villagers, I wanted them to be the only thing in each clip that was in full color. I researched the many ways how to do this, and regardless, I knew each method would be time consuming. In the end, I learned how to use the roto-brush tool. This tool was used to trace around the subject in each frame, and would try to identify the subject in each frame after that to essentially create a mask. I used that same mask and put it over the same video, except the background was put into monochrome mode and made black and white.
