In this project we were tasked with creating a graphic novel loosely based on a selection of famous people. I chose Ranulph Fiennes for my peice. The story is based on his expedition to the arctic which resulted in the loss of his fingers.

I was heavily inspired by Frank Miller, more specifically his Sin City work, for this project. I really wanted to emulate his style and feel, while keeping my own aspect of design and illustration in the final outcome.

 

I originaly used indian ink and fineliners over a graphite sketch on A3 paper, then I scanned the images in and added text and cleaned everything up.
