Movie Genre Tangram Puzzles

For the first week, what we were to do was to send back and forth pictures, edited files, quotes, and others that would goes off of what out partner has sent us. We sent back and forth 50 times to go a total of 100 pictures.

We have realized that one of the main things that happened throughout our “100” activity, is the usage of conversations, narrations, and just generally, storytelling. This is then, the theme for our second week of the unit.

Then, I came up with the idea of working with movie genres as our frames. That is because I thought that we need a limitation of the images used in the exquisite corpse, as we also approached a lot of films in our 100 from a classic like Star Wars, to an animation like Sailor Moon.

Tangram an already existing geometric formula  that has been used throughout the world. It is a form of puzzle game that is first base on a square, while the square is made up of a specific group of geometric shapes. People use those small shapes to create a new form. With that, we came up with the tangram solutions from online and on our own to find the shapes that would fit out five movie genres: Action, Fantasy, Horror, Romance Comedy, and Science Fiction.

After deciding on the genres, we started off by just gathering pictures of films within those genres and not yet thinking about the compositions. After we felt like we had enough, we started putting the compositions together by working from one shape to another, connecting the photos.
