This cover and disc was a project of love for me, as well as for the course Advanced Electronic Imaging. For this assignment, we were tasked with creating a custom cover for a film of our choice. We could either emulate the original cover, or create a unique cover of our own. Either way, we had to also use an image of ourselves on the cover and on the back. Being a big fan of Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and its stunning imagery, I had to choose this film. I decided to emulate the artistic style of Criterion Collection films and create my own cover. I wanted to create a flat, illustrated looking piece that captured both the atmosphere of the film as well as it's imagery.

The DVD/Blu-Ray disc cover used the colored eye from part of the end sequence. I wanted to steer away from using Hal since it felt too obvious. To connect its style to the cover, I enhanced the colors as well as added some drawn effects.
