TravelIN (Responsive Web Design)

Video introduction to TravelIN.

Problem Statement: To develop a responsive travel website for people using wheelchairs to explore accesible travel destinations in India
User Research
We came up with a set of questionnaire for our target audience to understand their needs. We took the help of UW's Disability Services Office in conducting a survey of 10 people with physical disabilities.

Few of the questions from the user survey and their responses are as below:

Persona Creation:
We created three personas to capture all the needs, pain areas and values of our target audience. This also helped us to be user-focused in our discussions and design decisions.
User flows:
Low -Fidelity Wireframes:

Medium Fidelity Interactive Prototype
Here is the interactive model of the site created in Axure RP that demonstrates one complete navigation flow  http://2vbjkp.axshare.com/#p=home

Usability Review
In order to test our initial design, we presented our wireframes using Balsamiq’s presenter to students and staff members at UW’s Disability Services Office.

Some of the valuable feedback from the exercise was surrounding:
•  More intuitive way for navigation to individual destinations,
•  Need for an FAQ page
•  Having more spaced out and visual design instead of text based could be helpful
•  Suggestion for keyboard accessibility.

High Fidelity Visuals

Results
By applying best practices in user centered designing, we were able to achieve most of the the milestones we had targeted during the planning phase including the below ones.
Adding a visual hierarchy and vibrant colour scheme to our site to improve site appeal
Providing user with the most relevant information within three clicks
Implementing easier navigation methods and appropriate taxonomy and tags for faster information retrieval

My Contribution
• Web Development
 Preparing user survey questionnaire
