"Lembert Dome, Yosemite"

I surprised my brother this summer by bringing one of his best friends to Yosemite for a couple of days of camping, hiking, and screwing around. We showed up to Tuolumne Meadows and this was the destination of our first hike. We ran around the peaks for awhile, marveling at how short we were on breath, literally and metaphorically. There’s something special whirring around that place. For me it felt like nothing else existed. To feel simultaneously so big and so small is a truly amazing feeling.

More progress...It's exciting to do paintings of places I've been because, for the entire time I'm doing them, I get to relive the memories of those places.
