CHRISTY HENRY's profile

Principles & Problem Solving Portfolio

Hello, My name is

In this exercise we were asked to make a logo representing us using our first and last initial. C and H are my initials , as you can see I used figure ground to capture my initials an exclaimation point to descirbe me further. The ‘C’ can be found in the outer purple edges, where as the ‘H’ and the ‘!’ are in the middle gray areas.
Grungevetica

In this exercise we were asked to use a helvetica look a like to make a distressed type face. I used a basic sans serif and created outlines as well as cut it apart. After that I jumbled the separate pieces to create a truely grunge font.
I'm Drawing a Blank

In this exercise we were asked to create a logo for a paint company that was interesting but still had a story behind the logo. This was successful because of how my logo worked. The paint brush it literally painting around the world.
Empty Bowls

This exercise was based on hierarchy. We were to make a flyer to represent the empty bowls event and how much of a great cause it is. Hand drawn illustrations and hand lettering let me give a homely feel to this flyer.
One-Line Logo

In this exercise we were asked to make a logo for the 2012 olympics in London by using one line to complete the logo. I used Big Ben as my one lined figure in my logo and as a focal point for my entire logo.
Slow Food

This exercise was a play off fast food. Making a poster or flyer representing how much healther and safer slow food or not fast food can be by using five different typefaces. Making it successful would be the use of contrasting colors and the interesting typefaces.
Persuasive Poster

In this project we were asked to create a interesting poster that could be used at a charity event. Mardi Gras was the theme and dancing and singing alligators was our focal point. I chose to have an alligator surrounded by his soulful jazz playing saxophone to show that Mardi Gras is not only about the beads and masks but also about killer jazz!
Crane Promotion

Our first project, project one was a flyer that had the bones of an origami animal. The meaning behind the animal also had to represent the International Origami Society. I picked and constructed a peacock, because of the beauty and patience it posesses., Making a peacock a wonderful face for origami.
Type Face

In this exercise we were asked to use an actual picture of a person of our choice and create an image soley of quotes from that person. I chose Marina from Marina and the Diamonds as she is one of my favorite artists of this century.
