Folklorama is at its heart a celebration of the many rich and diverse cultures found across the world. Culture is an intangible element and in order to truly understand it, it must be experienced, not touched, packaged or bought. It requires up-close participation, where assumptions and stereotypes are checked at the door and you allow yourself to be immersed in an unfamiliar world and discover something new.

As a result, one can safely say that the beauty of Folklorama is that everyone has their own unique experiences. This creative represents two levels of thought; one is more literal, where “View” is intended to echo the word “You”; and one more imaginative, where the concept is intended to relate the individual connections people will have with each piece of imagery with the unique experiences and memories these same people have at Folklorama.

Much like how understanding culture requires an up-close experience, it was the intention to create a design theme that encouraged viewers to lean in and connect with images and ideas they had experienced at Folklorama.
