For this project I was required to produce 5 books, focused around the word 'COPY' they had to be fundamentally or conceptually the same/linked, but slightly different in each book.

For my interpretation of the brief I instantly knew that I wanted to look into CMYK separation, having each book dedicated to 1 of the 4 plates in traditional colour printing (C - Cyan, M - Magenta, Y- Yellow & K - Black/Key) and then 1 final book with all the layers together, to create a colour image.

The initial project was to focus around me using the process of screen-printing to create each book, but due to issues out of my control I was forced to digitally print each book.

The content of the book stemmed from my initial photographic research, after planning on dedicating the book to my new home of Glasgow, I decided to go down a more relevant route to separation, after getting visuals from the recent independence referendum, and having a great knowledge of Cold War history, including the reunification of Germany, I decided to go down this route.

All the content and imagery in the books are the same, but each book has it's own individual discrepancies in each image, where colours are more dense than others, and on proper analysis of each book starts to give you an interesting and amazing insight into this field of printing. CMYK is something that really amazes me to this day, and has given me a really good scope for future work along these lines.
