Conceptual design, handwriting in a calendar app for the MS Surface Pro 3

Conceptual design for handwritten pen input in a calendar app:
The user marks up the time slot on his weekly overview with a vertical stroke and writes the specifics either directly into the new box in this view or uses a detail overlay.
The handwritten input can be saved (and displayed) either as a regular text (via OCR) or as a tagged image of the handwriting.
Doodles are possible, too.

The design was done for the German market entry of the Microsoft Surface 3 Pro tablet.
The calendar app is part of the WIN 8 client of genesisWorld CRM suite by CAS Software AG.
A vertical line defines the time slot for the appointment
All free text form field recognise the approaching pen and change to a checkered paper background for handwritten input
The user decides whether to save/display his input as standard text or as a tagged image of his handwriting.
Everything that is not recognised as text gets an option "save as image".
Comments by other users show a user name and a time stamp.
The appointment shows up in the weekly overview.
Optional layers: weather forecast for the given location, thumbnail portraits of participants.
