I chose to use the typeface Bodoni because of it's unique serifs and thin and thick stems. Playing around with Bodoni's letters, I found that parallelism worked really well to create a strong composition. Because of this, I decided to use the x w, y, and v to connect all four letters together. By doing so I was able to design something I thought that could be used for a fashion label or magazine logo.
I had also done three other compositions but ultimately chose the Bodoni design.

I didn't like the Garamond design (left) because it felt too disconnected between the left and right side, so I scraped it. The Centaur design (middle) had a nice shape, but it didn't seem to show the uniqueness of the typeface. In addition, it was a bit all over the place. Finally, I decided not to use the Memphis design (right) because the stems didn't connect with each other. There was no flow between the letters.
