Copenhagen is one of the most environmentally aware capitals of the world. That and the close proximity to the “Black Diamond” library, allows for this design to be dedicated to a specific field. The library is dedicated to environmental and natural science study and research. This is the reason why the connection to nature is so important in this project.

However this building is not only dedicated to scientists. It is dedicated to all those who want to become environmentally aware, or want to conduct their work or study in a hip, modern place. It offers a spectacular view of the Copenhagen Opera house and offers small gardens for people to use.

The reading garden is also a place for people who still enjoy the simple pleasure of reading a book, in the age of smartphones, tablets and ultraportable computers. The pleasure of reading a book under a tree is an experience that is being brought back in the design.
