This is a graphite pencil drawing of one of the most majestic creatures in the forest the illusive trophy deer. I've created this drawing as part of an act to help bring awareness to wildlife converstation.
The drawing was orginally 9x12 (Classic Canson Drawing Paper), but I later cropped it so it would fit on my scanner.
In this picture you can see the defferences in graphite pencil, carbon pencil and white prism pencils. If you didn't already know graphite pencils shine, carbon pencils produce a flat dense black color and the white prism pencils produce a more muted highlighted tone throughout.

To acheive the deer pelt/fur look I used a blend of cross hatching then later added single stroke highlights and finished the drawing up with a little old school pointillism using my white prism pencil and a 2B graphite drawing pencil.
The pencils used on this drawing were:
White prism pencil
Black carbon pencil
H-6B Faber Castell Goldfaber pencils
and a blending stump.
