OBJECTIVE
Use the gradient mesh tool in Adobe Illustrator to create a vector replica of a photographic still life.
IDEA
Photograph colorful eggs and reproduce the image with striking likeness, from highlights to shadows.
EXECUTION
The pen tool was used to draw the egg shapes over a photograph and the shapes were then filled with color using the mesh tool and eyedropper to sample colors from the original image. The likeness is uncanny, with highlights, midtones and shadows just as they were in the photograph.
This is the photograph over which I created the digital version.
