When challenged to create a stone-set ring for a personal or public icon I chose to create a ring for someone who is both, and for whom a ring would be a relevant object. At the time of this assignment I was reading Betty Friedan’s feminist masterpiece The Feminine Mystique, and it seemed only fitting that I make a diamond ring to honor her lifetime commitment to the elevation of women’s rights.
This three-finger ring sits on the pinky, ring, and middle fingers, and is made from sterling silver with an unpolished diamond.
