Leslie McGwire™ began in salon, spa, and resort design, and was instrumental in the creation of the Salon & Spa Design Studio for tng worldwide 19 years ago. She left California in 2001 and spent ten years building an impressive career, working as Western Regional Sales Director and Design Director for both Takara Belmont and Belvedere USA. Her journey eventually took her back to where it all began, and she became the Vice President of Sales for The Industry Source Salon & Spa Design Center. Following her great success there, she set out on her own, achieving her dream of creating her very own commercial interior design consulting company. A member of ASID, Allied (American Society of Interior Designers), Leslie has won 25 national design awards, including the prestigious Salon Today and INSTORE Jewelry Store awards. The old Sawyer Jewelry Store before Leslie McGwire & Associates: Interior Design Company transformed Sawyer from "Concept to Completion."
Choose calm and comfortable colors. Comfortable customers are more likely to linger longer in your store. When the owners of Sawyer Jewelers in Michigan, for example, decided to build a new location, they changed their white walls to neutral colors to create a Tuscany-themed store. The colors that were chosen to go with this theme were tans, browns and coppers. They have dark brown wood floors with stone arches in neutral colors to achieve their look.
