Know the layers branding and advertising campaign

The Brief:

To design a full branding and advertising campaign raising awareness about social anxiety disorder.

Approach:

From researching into the condition, contacting relevant organisations and contextual references, my aim was create a final outcome that would take the complexity of the condition but visually communicate it in a subtle yet effective way. I created a full selection of design material including a standing see through clear perspex piece, leaflets, flyers, posters, t-shirts, video, badges and keyrings to raise awareness about social anxiety which appeared within a exhibition setting. The clear perspex reinforce the meaning of seeing through the person - 3 layers are for aspects of social anxiety - the exterior - society perception then one of the possible physical symptom of having for example, your heartbeat racing then the potential inner cause of the anxiety - fear. By using the clear perspex in layers and clear vinyl image, my aim was to help reinforce the message of how people who suffer with the condition feel like people are always looking at them. The posters colours intended meaning are to relate with the extrovert & introvert (external & internal) aspects of people with the condition. For example, you could externally seem confident but internally the opposite and vice versa. Things are not always what they seem 'Know the layers'.
