Shortly after it was released, I decided to try to develop an external cooling system for the new Mac Pro when I learned how hot they were typically running. I worked with one other person to try to find a relatively inexpensive and easy way to try to cool the system. We built two very rough prototypes, but unfortunately they did not cool the machines significantly. We dropped the idea after testing the second prototype, but the experience was well worth the energy.
