Straub Beer, one of the nation's oldest family-owned breweries, has been making handcrafted beers in Pennsylvania since 1872. Peter Straub's Special Dark, introduced in 2009, needed a new identity, beer label and packaging. A two-color design was used for the case packaging. Full color logos were created for the six pack and labeling. Straub's other flagship beers were redesigned to match the Special Dark packaging and label. Beer distributor standup displays, two beer truck wraps and t-shirts were all designed to promote the "Honestly Fresh" beer. Beer can designs for the light and lager were also made, a first for the company. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator were used to manipulate a historical photo into the design. Along with Straub packaging, a microsite was proposed to build awareness for the legendary "Eternal Tap" available after touring the brewery. The interactive Eternal Tap microsite would allow visitors to view upcoming brewery events, learn the history of the beer and the qualities of each brew as well as purchase company merchandise. Billboards were designed to run in the state of Pennsylvania, each with a unique headline and design. An illustration of biker bar favorite George Thorogood was also made to promote the upcoming Straub sponsored Summer concert fest. Read Less
