That Which Carries the Strength of Time (album cover)

That Which Carries the Strength of Time is a personal project carried out under the supervision of Ritxi Ostáriz during a workshop called Designing music at MrMarcel School.

We were asked to design experimental guitarist Erik Emil Eskildsen's new cd. That Which Carries the Strength of Time was a two track album that was recorded live and outdoors, on a very windy summer day in Innsbruck (Austria), under a bird-shape sculpture called Birdie. Emil let us know that these were all important facts about that day, and he wanted them to be captured on the album cover.

My main inspiration for this project was Birdie. When you listen to the tracks you feel like you're entering some sort of limbo, an isolated space where music emerges naturally, on its own, organically. I tried to reflect this feeling by drawing Birdie, floating over the mountains of Innsbruck like some sort of kite that is hold by the strength of the wind. I also tried to communicate the continuity and the passing of time by creating everything using only one imperfect stroke. A musical, continuously moving, dinamic stroke that is endless and improvised.
