Monster Mash - BFI film event programme

BRIEF: Develop a brochure to promote a new film event at the BFI in London. The brochure should be a full programme of films at the event, giving the reader a clear breakdown of the films on offer and their dates / times - but doing so in a creative manner.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Film-buffs, academics, young professionals.
PROCESS: I chose to look at old-fashioned monster films for this piece. This genre includes classics such King Kong, Godzilla and Frankenstein and the most notable successes from the Universal Studios in the 30’s-50’s. I wanted to replicate the brash / over-the-top feel of these films in my brochure, and this directed my choice of illustrations, colour palette, and the type package style. I also wanted the brochure diecut to reflect the genre, so added the bite mark. This cut was also designed to help ‘pick-up’/ ‘keepsake’ factor.
