Society as a whole has lost touch with everything innate related to food, and this disconnection lets each individual simply “fast forward” straight to the dinner table, while remaining unaware of what’s actually in their food and how far it has traveled to get to them. MATTER OF CONCERN:

Before the Industrial Revolution, food was grown either at home or obtained at
a local farmers’ market, but today our food is transported to us from all over the
world. Such a mode of shipment can be referred to as, “food miles”,
representing the total distance that food travels from the farm to your table.

This shipping of food can use a tremendous amount of fossil fuel, increasing our
carbon footprints and air pollution. In addition, the use of synthetic fertilizers and
pesticides also prevents vegetables from growing in the most healthy and natural
manner.

Society as a whole has lost touch with everything innate related to food, and this
disconnection lets each individual simply “fast forward” straight to the dinner table,
while remaining unaware of what’s actually in their food and how far it has traveled
to get to them.

The only way the consumer can put an end to this ignorance and lack of attention to
the food process is to manage the development of their food from sprout to harvest,
