This illustration is for a redone CD cover for my illustration class. I chose to do Porter Robinson's 'Worlds' album. He is one of my favorite DJs out there, and his ablum is something that I had been listening to a lot lately. I felt like this album took the listener on a journey through a dystopian world. The songs described and told of wars, rebellions, the lost of beauty in the world, and took the listener to different places and different moods. SO I chose to do an illustration of a cloacked figure who can be referred to as the listener who is setting out on a journey that is told through the album. The smaller figure is a robot, since there are a few songs that use robotic vocals. The black cube is something that I noticed that appeared on several of Porter Robinson's albums. The cube is not always black particularly, but there is always some kind of cube angularity represented on his album covers, so I wanted to keep this so it can still be tied to the other albums.
This illustration was done in watercolor and colored pencil.
