Illustration Fall 2014

This is the cover of a made up comic book, that I had come up with for the comic book project. The girls are the two main characters and a pheonix is appearing from out of the blonde girl's hair. The pheonix is going to be a big symbol in this comic which is why it is on the cover.

The cover is done with watercolor, colored pencil, and a bit of ink.
This is the first page of the spread. It's not exactly the very first page of the comic though. I wanted to have a bit more of variety and drama when it came to illustrating the spreads, so I chose a scene that was partcially in the middle or at the end of the comic issue.

The spread is done with ink and copic markers.
The second page of the spread. Done with ink and copic markers.
This is advertisment illustration done for class. The advertisement is for a Korean brand eye cream that is made from snail extract. The cream bottle is represented as the snail's shell to connect the two.

This is a spot illustraion of an event I had gone to in the summer called EDC or Eletric Daisy Carnival. It shows the viewer looking down at the ground and seeing light reflected on their feet and gravel. On the second panel the viewer looks up and sees the light works, the stage props, and a girl with crazy hair color having the time of her life. I wanted this illustration to have a meaning: Don't look down, look up and see what you are missing.

This illustration is for a redone CD cover for my illustration class. I chose to do Porter Robinson's 'Worlds' album. He is one of my favorite DJs out there, and his ablum is something that I had been listening to a lot lately. I felt like this album took the listener on a journey through a dystopian world. The songs described and told of wars, rebellions, the lost of beauty in the world, and took the listener to different places and different moods. SO I chose to do an illustration of a cloacked figure who can be referred to as the listener who is setting out on a journey that is told through the album. The smaller figure is a robot, since there are a few songs that use robotic vocals. The black cube is something that I noticed that appeared on several of Porter Robinson's albums. The cube is not always black particularly, but there is always some kind of cube angularity represented on his album covers, so I wanted to keep this so it can still be tied to the other albums.
