Artist in Revolt

This project was called ‘Artist in Revolt’ and was an extension on a graduate piece at school, called ‘Through Rose Coloured Glasses’. This artwork depicts a more organic and analogue style of my own, and a sense of my own aesthetic. It communicates what seems to be a really dark and depressing illustration of black, dripping eyes – however within the eyes are personal words that provoke emotions of happiness, laughter and a sense of freedom. With this, I want the audience to feel a sense of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’. The application of the drips have been done with bitumen to achieve a wet effect.
