Logo design for a Children's book publishing company. There main focuses are kindness to your body, kindness to others, and kindness to the planet. They were looking for a modern, clean logo, that somehow encompasses the kindness and love aspect of their business. They love super colorful concepts, but also liked the idea of a simple logo with a nice text and no image. The liked the idea of an origami style logo so I tok inspiration from that. People don't generally identify them as a publishing company, they are more aware of their books and community outreach. The fact that they also self-publish the books is kind of a necessary technicality, not the focal point so the logo can focus more on the community outreach than the publishing.
So I decided to play around with colorful shapes and form them into a varity of birds and ladybugs and tried to place them together to illustrate a sense of community and maybe imply one of them helping the others in some way. The next few concepts focused on a parent child relationship, and then a settled on the origami idea and decided to go with an adult elephant leading a baby elephant. I chose elephants since elephants express kindness, love, and caring just like us and it really connects with the brand focus. They chose the last logo design to use, you can see it action here.
