This is part 2 of the Bienenstock competition, which required students to design a 2-floor gallery as well as an apartment for the owners of the gallery--all part of one building.  If you look at Phase 1, you will see that I chose a Southeast Asian theme, which is very serene and nature-inspired.  I carried that concept into this space, using ginkgo leaves throughout the space in various elements such as carpet patterns, the reception desk, and even artwork.  Ginkgo trees are native to China and fit well with my concept.  The gallery required a presentation room, bathroom, office, storage, a gallery kitchen, and gallery space.
