The aim of the project „A spasso per la casa” for a new colection of Cappellini brand was to reinvent a traditional idea of a container known as a functional solid, and create a furtniture piece that has an artistical value. “NEA” shelf was designed by a three-member team. The concept was based on the creation of a functional piece of furniture with the original, organic form. The created construction refers in the functional layer to the skeleton-skin relation and the whole piece resembles a living and breathing organism. Container as a body is reacting, responding to the touch and pressure.
The material is adapting to the weight of the object put on the shelf. In this project I was the author of the basic shape and main lines, based on my first sketches. I was responsible to make the digital 3D detailed modelling, together with other group members we made the 3D final visualisations and technical drawings.
