The concept of the light installation was created by a four-member team. It was inspired by the Big Bang theory and the origins of the Earth.
Light construction, consisting of hundreds of aluminum “leaves” hung on three-meter transparent fibers casts intriguing shadows on a white platform which constitutes upper mounting of the lamp. The shadows have shapes of the drifting continents and their arrangement changes smoothly when particular plates shift and rotate with even the slightest breeze and shine as little mirrors. We prepared a 1:1 prototype using the real chosen materials. For more than four days we have been creating our installation for Istituto Europeo di Design students work exhibition in Milan, Italy.
