NEBULOUS/Impressions of Paper on Fabric

Being nebulous brings me joy, being unpredictable brings me more joy and being unique is a cherry on the top.
Dyeing in India is one of the most celebrated textile technique. During the second semester at NID I got to paint
my hands in dyes of all colours during a week long course and loved it .

To dye these fabrics bright and happy I choose to use paper to get my colour from and tape to resist .
Impressions of paper on the fabric making one wear the stories that were once painted on paper, carefully
transferred onto textiles that we hold up closer to ours hearts.

I went on from one fabric to the other exploring ornate oranges with the gush of reds, the blush of pinks and
the sunshine of yellows.Colours started merging seamlessly into one another creating the story of new colours
all by themselves. Stories that narrated the beauty of never being able to be recreated making each piece a
unique one in itself which is narrated only once , for people who are as unique as these stories. Through this
journey every piece celebrated the uniqueness in its colour, texture and the surface it created. Thus, making them
art pieces which were handcrafted with a free soul for the ones with a free heart and mind, teaching how a piece
of fabric can narrate the story of colours and textures making it worth beyond a thousand words.
