User Dashboard
Prior to the 2.0 release of Scholarsphere, when users logged in they weren't taken anywhere to get started. They remained on the home page with only a minor, state change to the button that switched from "login" to the user's name. Also we had rolled out some new features that weren't really apparent that they existed. Users just had a listing of files unless it was the first time that they logged in.

We decided to create a user dashboard and redirect the user to their dashboard on login. Their new dashboard has the four most common actions that can be taken right on top. An overview of their statistics gives them an upfront idea as to how their work is performing and a listing of recent activity and their proxy's activity, if they have assigned a proxy, can be seen at a glance. User notifications are also listed to inform the user about all system activity.
