DJ Cutman had a need for a sturdy and easily-wearable helmet to phase out an older design, as well as to compliment his existing stage armor. The requirements for the headwear were that it needed to be breathable enough to not be excessively uncomfortable during a performance, and to be able to accommodate functional donning of headphones onstage.
