I had the opportunity to redesign the award-winning official Berry College student newspaper during the beginning of my Junior year. It had been quite a while since the last aesthetic update of the newspaper, and it has been a huge labor of love. The best part is? It will only get better as we print each week, and this design will be fresh for years to come.
BEFORE
Take a gander at the outdated fonts, tired masthead, and passe layouts. Poor thing NEEDED a redesign, right?
DURING
Here's the first issue we did with the new design. I took the color scheme of the previous design and updated it with a few more shades of more compelling blue and added an orange to compliment. We started out using Bodoni everywhere, which we realized rather quickly would print very poorly.
FINAL
This year, I redesigned all of the templates to create a much cleaner feel to the newspaper with an emphasis on readability.
