This caravan concept is the project I developed for the end of my degree. It aims to differ from the classical caravans. I tried to make something completely different from the rest of the caravan market.
Its style is based in a new line of caravan concepts that, despite the fact of not having been yet built, are the pioneers of a “new wave” inside caravan’s world.

This concept basically tries to put forward new “space creating” ways. It has two modules, totally independent but belonging to the same thing, whose positions can be changed, depending on which activity is being developed. If the user is transporting the caravan somewhere, the two modules are at the same level, ground level. But when he arrives to the place wanted he can lift the second module to the roof level. This way new living places are created like a porch under the second module and a terrace right up the first module.

Having two modules presents some dificulties such as reaching the top one, security issues, amongst others. This dificulties have been solved creating the caravan as a whole concept itself. It changes the way caravans are used and lived. There’s an explanation of how you’re supposed to use the caravan and some previous sketches of its appearance. It was decided to be made as a design for Renault giving the fact that it’s an academic exercise.

The renders are placed in an imaginary context where it could be used. As it can be seen, it has lots of windows and a transparent door. It was designed this way because it would have been self-contradictory with the caravan’s concept not to because it’s supposed to create new spaces and different places so it has no point to close the inside completely torwards the outside like it’s done in regular caravans.

The ‘Module 1’ has the kitchen and the bathroom inside.
There’s a flow diagram showing the way to the two different enviroments. Both of them are fully equiped; the kitchen has a fridge, a sink, a hob, cupboards and a table where users can eat. The bathroom has a WC, a shower, a sink and a locker. It’s designed to be the module which collects all the sewage water. Everything concerning this is located near.

The ‘Module 2’ has the bedroom and a little livingroom.
It has two heights that create two different and separated spaces. It’s equiped with wide storage space. The top has a nightstand and a little locker. On the bottom you find wardrobes, two tables and a sofa.
The livingroom’s table can go down and be replaced with a cushion creating another bed. You can fit from 4 to 5 people inside the caravan.
