rebirth of a mascot
After a recent purchase of a newly designed mascot costume left our old mascot illustration in the history books, it was time to get back to the drawing board. Armed with the illustration provided to us by the mascot design company and a collection of photographs showing our mascot in action, I was able to connect with an illustrator specializing in graphic novels who was able to give our mascot a proper makeover. Once wrapped, I was able to take the final art and convert it into digital files suitable for use across campus.

Final pencil drawings - finalizing details. A sketch from the illustrator on the left and my requested edits on the right.
Final ink
Final color from the artist
Working off of the final color scan, I was able to reconstruct the character in vector.
Final full-body character in full-color vector.
Using the vector version, I designed a half-body version for use in situations where the entire character would be too large.
As he appears on the athletics home page.
