Haiku Photography

Vol. 6 – Another final journey

Photography and Text by Luca Idrobo

(December 2014)
This is the sixth and final volume of my "Haiku Photography" series. The whole idea was to explore simplicity of forms, minimalist compositions, traces, textures, relationships and encounters, but above all atmospheres.

This last volume portrays dead leaves floating down a brook and through a tunnel, before they reach a small lake at the other side. It is a stage or transition within the long journey of vanishing into the earth again. My only intervention was to throw three pulled out flowers I found near the brook. Other than that I sat there just to contemplate this movement of life and death. The first volume started in darkness, and this last one comes back to it. No haiku has been written for this series, only the following question, which can be seen as kōan:
How does something appear when it is disappearing?
